Septic System Installation

Septic system installation involves designing, permitting, excavating, and installing a complete wastewater treatment system including the tank, distribution box, and drain field. It's required for homes not connected to municipal sewer.

Types of Septic Systems

Conventional gravity systems are most common and affordable. Mound systems work where the water table is high. Aerobic treatment units add oxygen to speed decomposition. Sand filter systems add an extra treatment stage. Your soil type, lot size, and local codes determine which system you need.

The Installation Process

Installation starts with a site evaluation and perc test, followed by system design and permits. Excavation creates the hole for the tank and trenches for the drain field. The tank (concrete, fiberglass, or polyethylene) is set in place, piping connects the house to the tank and tank to the drain field, and everything is backfilled and graded. A final inspection ensures code compliance.
